The clock is counted to an open window Keep the time against the weight Wishing that the other side would come And loving the free time The King of Lizards knows how to pray To the gods of luck and chance His love is keeping us here Keeping us alone You’re a pitch black rectangle You’re a grainy grotesque Desecration by deletion It’s holding of memories in a hard drive I will stand, this will pass, and we will embrace again The King of Lizards knows how to pray To the gods of luck and chance His love is keeping us here Keeping us alone It’s love reaching out It’s love keeping us alone Alone in a hole Singing in a tree

Those Birds oh Blackbirds Just out on those streets They take off into the air Where I lay my head When I go to sleep Those birds they follow me there We float by the people Right back to those hills I’m here out of danger But I forgot my will Where is my flag unfurled It’s in and out Laying flat on our backs While the train changes tracks And it shifts to a parallel world, We were backlit by torches That hang from the porches Of the burned down world Of the burned down world Where is my flag unfurled It’s in and out Bare wind Crossing ourselves Filled out with his words I kissed you on my back On the curb where we sat

Time Comes 06:07
A weight that may have lifted You tell him in your sleep And you gonna laugh and go To a town that we may have known When time comes We gotta hold When time is a detour You ran into the face of the wind You ran into a burning building And I want none of it I wanted none of it When time comes We gotta hold When time is just a detour

Bad News 04:11
Good news is now the thief Good news, it’s out on the run Treated like a hoodlum Treated like it’s wrong Good News Good News Little Ritchie Little Stevie Little Bobby Little John Stealing from the big boys Steal it with a gun Good News Good News Good for nothing Turns out it’s not a loss at all You’re good for nothing You go marching off alone All the gossip, dirty laundry Dark times depressing you Hit you in the head Hit you in the womb Good news Good news It’s a toss up, just somebody in your pocket, in your room Find you in a bed Find you in your tomb Good news good news Good for nothing There you go marching off alone Good for nothing Turns out it’s not a loss at all You’re good for nothing You go marching off alone Good news is now the thief Good news it’s out on the run Treated like a hoodlum Treated like it’s wrong Stealing from the big boys Steal it with a gun Good News Good News

Indecision 05:06
You looked up into bird bright eyes The high handed enemy Well, Fear is the mind driller Fear is the middle man Where the fear has gone there will be nothing left That’s a cannibal kind of trick to chew the leg You feigned death that you might touch the dagger Determining if you have anything left Heat upon heat upon heat upon heat It’s like I must have wanted you to fail No sign of agony left on the flesh Sifting sand through a screen Hope clouds indecision Yeah, love. That’s just the basic fact It’s weird that’s it’s quiet You wonder is it quiet to them Talking with your hands and a lit cigarette One of these days we’ll be walking One of these days we’ll be talking Side by side Edge to edge Foot to foot Hand in hand Hope clouds indecision Yeah, love. That’s just the basic fact

In The River 03:54
What a waste She yes, it’s faith It’s all right now, forget it babe The question is, can you see it? Stand on a bridge watch yourself go by In the river We make ourselves A place to start But we were fools with our angry hearts The answer comes, yes I’ve seen it Stand on a bridge watch ourselves go by In the river So all you hide away To the river

Gary 04:17
His hand was a shadow In all the lights My room, ’s become a church Filled with wires To make shapes and voices Disappear into the dirt Temper and the time is counting Keeping arrogance in vigilance Stuck in a bed without warning With you on the other side of the door Stuck with you on the other side of the door

We Got We 04:44
Walking down the stairs Past the pictures we hung Past the past stares of people we loved At the time when I really needed someone You kept asking You kept begging to run We had that bed to which we clung At the time when you really needed someone You got me I got you Racing round those streets Past places we hung Past the past days With people we loved At the time when we really needed no one I kept pleading You asked me to be done We both clung to the top of the mountain At the time, the world was burning to the ground You got me I got you

Moon Drunk 07:12
Come home, did it again There is nothing there, beside the rubble heap Trash pile of evening beats Pull one nail and the house comes down Moondrunk and done Running our bodies down Too fast to trip You come and go You never wanted it Search for your child Searching for the others Look for the mother Look for the Child Look for the father You never wanted Go out, do it again Here comes the world, inside a color sheet No one to kill, no one to beat Build your house with a broken crown Moondrunk and done Running our bodies down Too fast to trip You come and go You never wanted it Search for your child Searching for the others Look for the mother Look for the Child Look for the father You never wanted
